Simona Popovic (f.1989) invites viewers into a realm where light becomes a metaphor for myriad emotions, experiences, and existential reflections. In the literal or physical sense her compositions begin in interior spaces, architecture, and environments. When fully present at a location she employs experiential emotions to capture the moment through the camera lens. Her process embraces the plural atmospheres of the moment and internal emotions are suspended in time tempting an engagement with the intangible. All of the light in the images naturally emanates from the sun emphasizing the temporality. The obstructions are equally significant, particularly the shadows and shapes created by window frames, curtains, doors, pathways, buildings, natural environments, and infrastructures.
